Born from chromed and streched functional surfaces, Cleo Chrome {CC} produces steel pieces of body adornment, thought in a genderful perspective. Through adornment, Cleo Chrome questions ways of linking sculpture, fashion and accessory by building wearable pieces on a clothing scale. The project creates bonds between industrialized materials and handcraft, mainstream trends and Haute couture, low- and high-quality, popular or preciousness. Some of the pieces works like chest-plates, referring to chest mail and Middle Age armors, as some others are inspired by y2k aesthetic, or trends and slang from social networks.  

By building landscapes of melted sources and twisted chains on lava-edged shapes, CC's pieces refer to a generation that distorts a present with other forms of time and reality, combining in its core, aesthetic of dystopia inspired by deep & suave paradises, stretched glass surfaces, 3D material, apocalyptic Sci-Fi or video gaming universes. An aesthetic drawn by blurred outlines, loud materials and over-layered processes. 

Cleo Chrome’s approach blends fragments of a certain internet culture. A dissociating culture of the present time, in which grow new forms of fictional, speculative, alternative worlds where expressing identities through adornment is beyond framed society canvas. CC uses a visual lexical linked to protection, defense & empowerment as a survival guide for a generation desirable to find ways out from disrupted systems. 

Cleo Chrome brings Hearts out from abysses, by excerpting empowerment tools from vulnerable places.
